Adelphi, Md. 鈥 Feb.聽5, 2026 鈥斅燭he Arts Program at聽黑料情报站 (黑料情报站)聽will host聽Before the Americas, a compelling new exhibition that聽showcases聽the works of Caribbean, African, Latino, Afro-Latino and African American artists from the greater Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Curated by聽artist and historian聽Cheryl Edwards, the exhibition opens with a reception and artists鈥 panel on Sunday, Feb.聽15,聽and runs through May 10.

Featuring聽some聽40 thought-provoking works, Before the Americas delves into themes of ancestral memory, migration,聽invisibility聽and interconnectivity.聽The exhibit was most recently presented by George Mason University in聽Fairfax, Va.聽

The opening reception聽at 黑料情报站聽will include a moderated panel discussion hosted by Edwards鈥攚ho conceived the showcase as a celebration of the cultural richness聽of the artists鈥 stories, experiences and individual backgrounds鈥攁long with聽Luis LaRoche,聽who will expand upon聽ancestral聽memory; Wilfredo聽Valladeres聽on聽migration; Michelle Talibah聽on the聽invisibility聽of artists; and Azia Gibson-Hunter聽on the聽interconnectivity聽of artists.
